There has been a very long hiatus and this is why.... because I am useless. I abandoned this poor little bloogy-woggy and got a tumblr instead. I know, I've lost 80% of my pigment. I went to Alton Towers, went camping and went to the zoo this summer, as well as wasted a LOT of time.
Nevertheless, here is my lovely tumblr.

A creative moment!
I hadn't realised the hiatus I have taken between my blogging (nearly two weeks, eep!) and apologise profusely for that! (Oh, get my posh vocuabulary, dahlin'.)
I've been away as I have been lacking any motivation or time to actually even bring out any creativity, but it has been brought back to life, as I am stuck doing the Welsh Bac! Yaaaay!
But yeah, recently, I just haven't been bothered, and the last two weeks have been an emotional C-flat-note of events. Just, boring.
But hopefully, I'll start getting myself back into everything.
What have I done to re-birth my creativity then?
Sewn (Sowed? Sewed? Stitched?) myself a felt owl and a felt mushroom.
Started reading some Lovecraft again.
Attempted to blog.
Sorry it is very short, but I really don't have much to inform.
Toodle pip!

Return of the Laptop
This post is about the beautiful piece of rubbish which is my laptop. I recently am back on it again due to having to replace the charger -- but bearing in mind it being 6 years old, I decided to put this off for six months mainly because I was scared of it never turning back on.
So, what is this laptop you got then? Well, it's a Fijitsu Seimens laptop and I have no idea what model it is, and I received it as a Christmas present from my parents when I was in Year 7 (First year of high-school) for study and recreational purposes, and also so I'd stop scrapping with my sister over the computer.
What's wrong with it then?
Well, being over 6 years old, things do eventually go wrong. The plastic surrounding the fan has gone, the laptop is far too warm for comfort, the fan may not even work properly, it had to be rebooted, and despite only having Chrome, Skype, iTunes and Open Office on this thing -- it will not open Chrome for 10 minutes after turning the damn thing on, it cries (metaphorically) when opening a new tab, and finally --- IT GAVE ME THE BLUE SCREEN ONCE.
(I don't even know how it survived it as I stared and nearly burst into tears)
So, why haven't I replaced this yet with a much newer and more reliable model?

- I can't afford my UKCat test, let alone a new computer!
- I love it too much. Honestly. I've grown up and learnt the internet with this trainwreck of a laptop.
I also started cleaning the Sixth Form room today and started a poll about fundraisers to improve the room instead of my Welsh Bacc work. Mwhahahaha!
That's all folks,
Amy!

The fun of post-exams!
So, I am technically 'free' for the summer after finishing my last AS exam last Wednesday, but here's the fun fact : I STILL HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL. Yup. Why, people may ask. Why spend all this time after exams not really doing much?
Because of a certain little thing called the Welsh Baccalaureate. Those fortunate enough to have never heard of this horrific qualification will now have to pity the pain a huge amount of Welsh Students suffer. It is basically 'Key Skills' rubbish. But worse. And longer. And fussier. This qualification basically consists of roughly 11 things we need to do.
If having a teacher not read it is bad, a teacher actually reading it is even worse. I have been rejected a huge amount of my ICT work because I didn't spell a Welsh word correctly or didn't write it quite the way he wanted it. Bearing in mind, this wasn't even my real tutor. My *real* tutor decided to skip 80% of the lessons because he was doing a much more important job in producing the school's musical (which surprisingly, was actually pretty good of what I heard from it). So, I had to complete ICT the day it was due in, like 70% of the year.
7 I haven't even looked at yet, and need to complete this in the next few weeks, and 9 was so difficult to come by. Work Experience searching within the medical sector is near impossible because of insurance policies. I ended up doing Work Experience in a charity shop I already volunteer for. Hmmpf. Either way, this is a necessary procedure, otherwise you fail the Bacc. Which is pretty sucky.
The 30-hours volunteering wouldn't have been an issue if we decided where to volunteer, but had no choice. The Year 12 students were forced to a local 'activity camp' in the valleys where we were underappreciated babysitters for Year 7 students and fed potato skins for a weekend. Fortunately, as I grew up in the mountains and don't have a family with the greatest of culinary skills, this wasn't too great an issue, and found some things fun, even though Year 7 children snubbed me, accused me of attempting to drown them (!-- this did *not* happen, the kid who did this has an older brother in my year and is known to cause mischief) and I also fell in a lake. My friend, Hannah, couldn't adapt very well, and went home ill and leaving me with no one else in my room, so moved over to a room where most of the girls stayed. (And there we had some laughs regarding lads and comic books, but that is another story...)
Finally, I must outline the huge Welsh propaganda and useless PowerPoints the Bacc consists of. As much as I admire the passion of our Welsh department, the lessons were highly biased and had a huge attitude of 'WALES AGAINST ENGLAND AND THE WORLD, HEN WLAD WILL CARRY ON, WE'RE BETTER THAN YOU' and then whined about no-one who moved from England to Wales learn the language. Slightly hypocritical. The PowerPoints are mainly common sense on how not to get yourself arrested and the whole 'Don't do drugs' slogans.
One fun thing I hope I can achieve out of this horrific course is a pass, which, stupidly enough, for this very simple and easy course, is worth an A in A-Level. Yep. This may count towards me getting into university if I do terribly in Physics, bearing in mind I get an A in Chemistry and Biology.
A quote I may add from a student in the year above.
"How do you pass the Bacc? Just finish the blinking thing, there is no possible way of failing other than failing to do it."
As well as Bacc, this post-exam relief means I can do several things, such as learn German, learn theory for driving, start my personal statement, practice the UKCAT and make helluva lot of money working all summer. Should be fun.
Until I post again pretty darn soon,
Amy

- ICT
- Number skills
- Working with others
- Improving self performance
- Solving problems
- Communication
- Individual Investigation
- 30 hours volunteering
- Work Experience
- Pro-Wales-Anti-Everyone-Else Propaganda lessons
- A diary and 'fun' activities!

Video Games.
One thing I have failed to mention in my previous post was my love for video games. Since I was a child, I have enjoyed only one franchise of video games, and typically for your usual young girl, it was The Sims franchise. At the age of 10, my Dad bought me a PS2 with The Sims console version on it, after I had played The Sims on PC at a friend's house with her sister.
I was hooked instantly, and played The Sims majorly on console, but for my 12th birthday, I got The Sims 2 on PC and spent majority of my weekends in the freezing office, mainly watching my Sims' houses burn.... (I'm not an arsonist, honestly) and lots of other crazy stuff. I then purchased The Sims 3 in high school, and that's where things started to go downhill with the computer. I spent a lot of time downloading extra content and keeping up with my now dead blog 'turtlelover2009simsblog', which in all truth, is a bit...bad. The computer eventually died on me, and without any of our laptops being able to handle iTunes, let alone The Sims, I eventually had to sell all my games.
I left video games aside for a while, until last February, where I was on a school trip to watch a Drama production. An old friend from the year below, Ulysses was sat in front of me and bored, I began to chat to him. All of a sudden, a boy much smaller than Uly (not exactly difficult, as he *is* 6 foot 7 inches) popped his head up, mostly consisting of long, thick hair. Seriously, he was more hair than head. He introduced himself as Tom, and we chatted as Uly pulled his smooth flirting moves with the older girls in my year. Either way, Tom began enthusing about a franchise of video games called Final Fantasy, a franchise he was shocked to hear I'd never heard of. We chatted about video games for most of the two hour journey, and he recommended all sorts of franchises to me.
I began playing Final Fantasy and found myself again, hooked. I had no idea that RPG games would appeal to me, and then I started getting into Zelda and then Metroid, and I still ask for Tom's advice regarding his best subject : Video Games. So, Tom, I thank you for getting me into all these cool games, and your advice is well-rounded and reliable.
(Bonus fact #1 - Tom also got me into Skype, where I became closer to my best friend, Uly, and also introduced me to most of my new awesome friends--which will probably be talked about later.)
Until next time,
Amy.

Welcome, Croeso, Wilkommen!
Hello there, random person or people that have stumbled onto my very new and humble blog. It almost has that cliché 'new-blog-smell' it's so typical, I'm even sat with Dire Straits cuddling my cat. All I need is a Starbucks coffee, and there we have it, a typical white girl blog.
Well, who is this silly girl, and what on earth is this blog for?
Well, I'd like to welcome you as I am Amy, an AS Level student residing in the crazy valleys of Wales. (NOT THE VALLEYS. Ugh. *Shudder*. The sheep here have more class than some of those women in those reality shows, but I may mention my hatred for reality TV on a later date.) As you may suspect, I am fluent in Welsh and English, an avid coffee drinker, a neurotic reviser and also have a wide range of hobbies including fly-fishing, roleplaying, dancing, skiing, volunteering and generally having a laugh when I can. I also lack my common sense, but enjoy science and am hoping to do Dentistry in University.
My blog is made for just chatty purposes, where you can laugh at my crazy antics and just watch as I throw my opinion out there as you have no choice but have to see it. Why? Cause it's my blog.
Either way, I hope you enjoy reading.
Amy.
